Geraldine Kay (Trump) Earnst, 74, of Sedro-Woolley, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 29, 2017 from Alzheimer’s. Gerry was born on July 17, 1942 to Ben and Mildred Trump in Dayton, Washington.

Gerry lived with her mom, dad and three younger sisters by the Tucannon River. She attended a one-room school house in Marengo, Washington all the way through 8th grade. She graduated valedictorian of her class from Dayton High School in 1960. Gerry went on to study Cytotechnology at the University of Washington and worked as a Cytotechnologist in labs in Seattle, Mount Vernon and from home. On July 24, 1965, Gerry married Larry Earnst. In 1967, they had a daughter, Bonnie and in 1970 they had a son, Lenny.

Gerry enjoyed her children and grandchildren’s many band events over the years. Gerry liked puzzles, crocheting, and sewing and made many quilts for family members over the years. Gerry loved the ocean and she and Larry traveled and camped out all along the Pacific Coast. They spent time in the Olympic National Forest and at Hurricane Ridge. They also enjoyed visiting caves in Montana and New Mexico. They traveled across the U.S. and in Canada with her favorite trips being to see their grandchildren in Billings, Montana, and their trips to Alaska and Maine.

Gerry leaves her husband of 51 years, Larry, of Sedro-Woolley; sisters Donna Trump, Diane Hughes and Bev Sinkbeil and her husband Jim, all of Clarkston, Washington; daughter and her husband, Bonnie & Brian Belles of Sedro-Woolley; son and his wife, Lenny & Gina Earnst, of Billings, Montana; grandchildren Nicole and Colin Belles of Sedro-Woolley and Lewis and Ashley Earnst of Billings, Montana; nephews Andy Thomas of Maui, Hawaii, Ben and his wife Bethany Thomas of McCall, Idaho, Mathew Thomas of Clarkston, Washington, Angus Hughes of Orofino, Idaho and Brian and his wife Laura Sinkbeil of Monroe, Oregon; nieces Janie and her husband Luke Keller of Vale, Oregon and McKenzie Hughes of Orofino, Idaho; great-nephews Oliver and Charlie Thomas of McCall, Idaho; great-nieces Emma Thomas of McCall, Idaho, Stella and Charlotte Sinkbeil of Monroe, Oregon and Braelyn and Brystol Keller of Vale, Oregon.

Gerry is preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Mildred Trump, and niece, Jessie Lea Thomas.

The family requests in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Sedro-Woolley Band Parent Group’s Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 395, Clearlake, Washington 98235.

A Celebration of Life service with Pastor Cody Natland officiating, will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley. A reception will immediately follow until 5 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church in Sedro-Woolley. Arrangements are under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.

    Gerry and I took the Cytotechnology course at University Hospital together in the mid 60s and stayed in touch all these years. My husband and I attended their wedding reception in Dayton.
