Gladys L. Stringfield, 89, a longtime Sedro-Woolley resident, passed away on January 3, 2025 at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon following a brief illness.
Gladys was born on November 12, 1935, the daughter of James C. Denny and Addie Proctor. She was raised along the Cascade River in Marblemount with her siblings, a place that remained close to her heart. She attended school in Marblemount and Concrete. She was united in marriage to Millard Stringfield in Lyman, WA in 1955 and they made their home and raised their sons in Sedro-Woolley.
Gladys is survived by son, Mike Stringfield; two grandsons, Eric (Melody) Stringfield of Sedro-Woolley, Jason Stringfield of Seattle; two great-grandchildren, Savannah and Hunter Stringfield; numerous nieces and nephews, with a special nephew Jerry Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Millard Stringfield; son, Dwayne Stringfield; brothers Theo Denny, Raymond Denny, Kenneth Denny; sisters, Lola Johnson, Marjie Binschus, Dorothy Fink, Mary Bell Hedman; daughter in-law, Sande Stringfield.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00, on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Union Cemetery in Sedro-Woolley, WA with Pastor Jim Cannon officiating. Share your memories of Gladys and sign the online guest register.

Gladys was a one of a kind always with a smile and a fantastic greeting. May warm memories surround her family in this time of loss.
Mike, I am so sorry for the loss of your Mom. I remember her well from the Free Methodist Church. She was a unique one of a kind person, the type who is never forgotten. A Mother who loved her boys!
