HANNAH J. KNUTH, a longtime resident of Sedro-Woolley passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2002 at the Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon, WA. at the age of 87. She was born on February 2, 1915 in Ronan, Montana, the daughter of Marion F. and Kate O’Sullivan Suiter. In 1923, at 9 years of age Hannah traveled to the Skagit Valley with her family on a horse drawn wagon. She was raised and attended schools in Sedro-Woolley. She was united in marriage to Lindsey John Knuth in Sedro-Woolley in 1931 and they made their home here since that time. Hannah was a devoted housewife and later worked at the Cascade Cannery in Burlington until her retirement at age 65. She enjoyed gardening and she also was a great nature lover taking long walks thru the fields and woods. She was known for her kindness towards her family and friends.
She is survived by 2 daughters; Grace Draper and Annie Wilson both of Sedro-Woolley, 4 sons; Lindsey Knuth and his wife Wilma of Mount Vernon, Raymond Knuth, Robert Knuth and William Knuth and his companion Sharon all of Sedro-Woolley. Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. 2 nephews and 1 niece. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband ‘Nute’ in 1987, a son Marvin in 1965, a sister Mary Wright and a brother Marion Suiter. The family suggests memorials be made to ‘Meals On Wheels.’
Funeral Services will be Monday, December 30, 2002 at 11:00 AM at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley. Interment will follow at the Union Cemetery in Sedro-Woolley.
