HAZEL MARGARET TRACY, 91, a longtime resident of the Marblemount, WA community passed away on Saturday June 7, 2003 at the Life Care Center of Skagit Valley in Sedro-Woolley.
She was born on January 22, 1912 in Marblemount, the daughter of Robert & Margaret Siverling Hatt. As a young girl she moved to Granger in Eastern Washington and then to Toutle Lake near Mt. St. Helens where she completed her education.
She was united in marriage to Alfred Tracy in Marblemount in 1936 and they made their home in Tennessee and on the east coast, returning to Marblemount in 1946.
Hazel worked as a cook for the U.S. Forest Service and also at restaurants in Newhalem and at the Log House Inn in Marblemount. Leisure time found her walking and fishing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alfred in 1978 and by a sister, Iola Anderson.
She is survived by a sister, Mary Schrader of Concrete. 1 brother, Stephan Hatt and his wife Leona of Santa Rosa, CA. 1 half brother, Gerald Hatt of Mason Lake, WA, 1 step-brother, Harry Martin and his wife Marilyn of Marysville, WA and good friends, Albert & Fern Merritt of Marblemount. Memorials to the Marblemount Chapel, PO Box 59, Marblemount, WA 98267 are suggested.
Graveside services will be held on Friday June 13, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. Pastor James Larson of the Wildwood Chapel officiating.
