Helen Mae Meins, age 79, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2004 with her family at her side at United General Hospital in Sedro-Woolley. She was born April 21, 1925 in Bow, WA the daughter of Lon and Eliza Holder Harrison. Helen grew up in the Darrington area and attended Darrington High School. She was married to Bob Telegenhoff in 1954 and he preceded her in death in 1956. On May 12, 1957, she was married to Earl Meins in Bellingham and he preceded her in death in September of 2000. For the past fifty years, she has resided in the Hamilton area where she worked in the canneries and field work. Helen enjoyed gardening, canning, shopping, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren. Helen will be remembered for her continured spirit throughout her life and her sense of humor.
She is survived by her five children Debbie Meins, Fred and his wife Teri Meins, and Gail and her husband Charles Corne all of Hamilton, Robert and his wife Kris Osborne of Sedro-Woolley and Diane Gustafson of LaConner. 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. A brother Raymond Harrison of Arizona and two sisters Ruth Henry of Pasco and Irene Neumiller of Sedro-Woolley. Numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Willakate ‘Jack’ Barker, and two brothers Edward and Fred Harrison.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at United General Hospital for the special care given to Helen during her final days.
Graveside Services will be Friday, December 17, 2004 at 1:00 PM at the Hamilton Cemetery with Pastor Ron Schenk of the Lyman Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements and Services under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
