Jack Mullen, 81, lifetime resident of Sedro-Woolley and Hamilton passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2003. Born December 30, 1921 in Hamilton, WA, the son of Henry and Virginia Prevedell Mullen. Jack graduated from Hamilton High School in 1940 and married Helen MacDonald in Anacortes on April 27, 1946. They moved to Sedro-Woolley in 1954 where he worked in the logging industry and raised registered Angus cattle at his farm in Lyman. Jack enjoyed camping in his motor home, fishing, golfing and especially his electric trains. He will be remembered by family and friends for his sense of humor. Jack is survived by his wife Helen Mullen at the family home in Sedro-Woolley, and daughters Marilyn Mullen of Seattle and Judy and husband Bob LaFreniere of Chandler, AZ. Also, granddaughters Jennifer and husband Patrick Drum of Tacoma and Jamie LaFreniere of Mesa, AZ. Brothers Roger and wife Jean Mullen of Bellingham, and Dennis Mullen of Lyman; sister Doris Campbell of Sedro-Woolley, and sister-in-law Irene Mullen of Burlington and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by his brother Robert Mullen, sister Frances Swapp and his parents.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, April 5, 2003 at 2:00 PM at Lemley Chapel with Rosalie Robles of Mount Vernon officiating. Inurnment at Union Cemetery at a later date.
