On Sunday, September 3, 2006 Jacquie Joanne Torgerson was taken to be with the Lord, the result of an automobile accident near Bow.
Jacquie was 44 years old. She was born in Mount Vernon, WA on December 21, 1961, the daughter of Jack H. Abrahamson and Jan & Bill Brigham.
She was raised and attended school in Sedro-Woolley, attending Sedro-Woolley High School with the class of 1981. Jacquie then attended the Mount Vernon Beauty School where she earned a degree in Cosmetology. She worked as a hair stylist at the Hair Factory and On-Track Hair Design in Sedro-Woolley until opening her own shop, Greenstreet Boulevard Salon in 1990. She has worked as a stylist for over 25 years.
She was united in marriage to her soul mate, John Torgerson in Burlington on June 24, 1988 and they have made their home in Sedro-Woolley with their 2 sons, Nicholas Clair Cummings and Gabriel Lars Torgerson.
She has been a longtime member and contributor to the Mary Purcell Booster Club, helping out at all of fund raising events held at the school. She was a ‘Jacquie’ of all trades, painting, cooking, sewing and referring among other talents.
Jacquie loved her family & friends so very much and will be missed by many.
She is survived by her husband, John and 2 sons, Nicholas Clair Cummings and Gabriel Lars Torgerson in Sedro-Woolley. Her mother and father, Jan & Bill Brigham of Big Lake. 2 brothers, John Abrahamson and his wife, Cindy of Lyman and Jeff Abrahamson of Concrete. 1 sister, Georgann Johnson and her husband, Rusty of Day Creek; 4 step-sisters, Bonnie Brigham of Samish Island, Jannette Brigham and Dawn Brigham, both of Mount Vernon and Deanna Howard and her husband, Neil of Sunnyside, CA. A brother-in-law, Tom Torgerson, and a sister-in-law, Lia Crider and her husband Craig all of Sedro-Woolley. Her nieces and nephews, Joshua, Zachary & Caleb Johnson, Jon &Jeff Abrahamson, Charlie & Carrie Huddleston, Terri, Sharlean and Jeana Torgerson and Craig, Jr., Michael, Sara and Anna Crider. 2 aunts, Georgia Schopf and Dayle Hildebrand of Mount Vernon. 2 cousins, Debi Gustafson of Sedro-Woolley and Greg Johnson of Palmer, AK as well as many second cousins. Jacquie was preceded in death by her father, Jack Abrahamson. The family requests that memorials be made to a trust fund for John & Gabriel, at the North Coast Credit Union, 1410-A Riverside Drive, Mount Vernon, WA 98273 or to the Mary Purcell Elementary School Booster Club.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2006 at 11:00am at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery with Pastor Rick Miles of the Day Creek Chapel officiating. Services are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley. Following the service please join Jacquie’s family at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church for a time of fellowship and to Celebrate her life.
