James Arthur Cannon went to be with his Lord on Thursday, August 29, 2002 at the United General Hospital in Sedro-Woolley, WA at the age of 77 years. He was born August 22, 1925 in Rib Lake, Wisconsin the son of Benjamin and Lucy Johnson Cannon. Jim grew up in Wisconsin and later served with the US Army during WWII. He was married to June Richter on February 17, 1951 in Rhinelander, Wisconsin and in 1952 they moved to Sedro-Woolley. Jim worked for WRP Lumber Co for many years and also served as a minister for the Assemblies of God Church. At the time of his passing, Jim was the Pastor of the Alger Valley Christian Center in Alger. Jim enjoyed the ‘Word of God,’ he loved helping people and had a true servants heart. In his ministry, he was active in singing and playing his guitar and providing services and bible study for the Senior Center and Country Meadows. Jim loved to paint and sketch and was an accomplished artist as well as spending time gardening. Most of all he loved his family and his Country. He is survived by his wife June of the family home in Sedro-Woolley. 4 children Elicia Johnson and her husband Michael of New Iberia, LA, Vicki Honey and her husband Ronald of Umatilla, OR, Shelly Burger and her husband Wilf of Kelowna, BC, and James Cannon and his wife Terri of Polakwani, South Africa. 13 grandchildren Mellissa Johnson, Justin Johnson, Tiffany Geer and her husband Kevin and their daughter Morgan Geer, James Honey and his wife Shannon, Trevor, Michaela, Julia, and Lianna Burger, Benjamin Cannon and his wife Kathy, Stephanie, Andrea, Samuel, and Jessica Cannon.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, September 4, 2002 at 11:00 AM at Bethel Assembly of God Church at State and Township. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 4, 2002 from 9:00AM to 5:00PM at Lemley Chapel. Arrangements and Services under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
