James William “Jim Bill” Perkins, 59, a longtime Sedro-Woolley resident, passed away at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle on January 2, 2019.

Jim was born on September 27, 1959 in Tacoma, WA, the son of Thomas & Carol (Holbrook) Perkins.

The Perkins family settled in Sedro-Woolley in 1972 and Jim attended and graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School with the class of 1977.  After high school he worked as a commercial fisherman for 3 years, did some farming and earned a Business Degree from Skagit Valley College.

Jim worked alongside his father, Tom, managing the Perkins Variety Apples Orchard for many years and then as owner/operator of the Eagle Haven Winery from 2000 until its sale in 2016.

Jim enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, going for cruises in his ’67 Chevelle, but mostly just being with his family and friends.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Mariah Kurpuis and husband Austin of E. Wenatchee; son, Evan Perkins of Burlington; father, Tom Perkins of Mount Vernon and brother, Thomas Lee Perkins of West Port; He was preceded by his mother, Carol Perkins.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from Noon to 3 pm at the Eagle Haven Winery in Sedro-Woolley.  Memorials in honor of Jim are suggested to American Cancer Society.  Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
