Janice Gibson

Friday, January 17th, 2020

Janice Leath Gibson, 73, a resident of Sedro-Woolley, passed away at her home on Friday, December 27, 2019.

She was born on January 23, 1946 in New Rockford, North Dakota, the daughter of Norman and Cora (Hastings) Graham.  She made her home in North Dakota until moving to Washington State in 1963, and making the Skagit Valley her home since 1970.

Janice had worked several jobs until she found her passion for working with individuals with developmental disabilities, working at Weaver’s Unlimited and for New Leaf, Inc.

Janice was united in marriage to William ‘Bill’ Gibson on October 19, 1984 and they moved to SE Alaska where they lived until 1991 when they became grandparents. Upon their return, Janice and Bill made their home in Hamilton and Janice began working for Rehabco Inc. where she worked until her retirement in 2007.

In her free time Janice loved to decorate her home. She always kept her family on their toes with changes or new ideas.  She also loved to go camping with Bill, but her favorite pastime was spending time with her six grandchildren. She loved taking the kids during their spring break from school each year, teaching them her crafts. She loved her family beyond words.  She would try to spend a month each year back home in North Dakota to see her family.

She always had a smile and a friendly ‘hello’ to everyone she met; she did not believe in anyone being a stranger.

Janice was also a Mom and Grandma to many extra people along the way.  Janice was truly loved by all who met her and she will be missed beyond words.

Janice is survived by her children and their spouses, Jerry & Kimberly Moser of Sedro-Woolley and LeathAnn and Jonathan Johnson of Sedro-Woolley; her six grandchildren, Samantha &  Patrick Moody, Alen Moser of Marysville and Tanner Moser of Sedro-Woolley and KayLee, Madelynn and Gage Johnson; her siblings and their spouses, Richard & Joann Graham of Jamestown, ND, David & Margery Graham of Yuma, AZ, Roger & Judy Graham of Apache Junction, AZ, Bonnie & Mark Fletcher of Spring Park, MN and Connie & Lonnie Sucket of Grand Forks, ND and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bill in 2007; sister and brother-in-law, Norma & Virgil Larson; nieces, Dalayna Pierce and Kathy Fandrich and her husband Marvin.

Please help the family remember Janice at a Life Celebration on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at the Cascade Christian Church, 534 Township Street in Sedro-Woolley from 1 to 4 pm.

So sorry to hear of Janice passing. I can’t remember the last time we spoke but it was in Carrington at a family gathering. Those gatherings had many relatives! My deepest sympathies to all of her family. Joni (Saint) Andre

    Janice’s family,
I hadn’t seen her in many years but have many memories of her. We grew up together in the town of McHenry and our families spent lots of time together. I can still see her beautiful smile and hear her laughter! My prayers and sympathy to all of you! God Bless!
