Janis Marie Jarmin

Wednesday, January 17th, 2018

Janis would like to let you know that her work here is done. “What a wonderful life! I’ve enjoyed the warmth of a terrific family, the love and companionship of my husband Ray, and the satisfaction of gaining children, grandchildren, and great friends along the way. I did everything I ever wanted to do and leave you with no regrets.”

Janis Marie Jarmin passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, January 15, 2018 at the age of 75. She was born in the summer of 1942 in Santa Monica, California. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend to many! She loved to travel, take tons of pictures, and wear matching jewelry & sunglasses with every outfit as well as a matching lipstick. She also loved her fresh flowers, solar light décor, and all things from the Pioneer Women. Janis and Ray spent most Saturdays “going to town” to grab food and get special treasures from The Village and Walmark as she called it.

She was especially known for her Jarmin Daycare that she had for over 50 plus years. She loved her daycare children and grandchildren tremendous, and they loved going to her house. She always made you feel at home.

Janis is survived by her husband, of 57 years Ray; daughter, Kelly; son, Kevin and his wife, JoAnn,
son, Darrold and his fiancée Christine; grandchildren, Alleigh and her fiancé, Michael, Aleisha, Cody, and Kayla; her remaining siblings; and in-laws; extended family; the Aldridge’s, Pam, Susan, Rusty, Jerry, and numerous friends.

A Celebration of life will be held this Saturday, January 20th, 2018 from 11AM-4PM at the Jarmin residence. In Lieu of flowers, Janis would love for you to donate to a charity of your choice. Please share memories and photos of Janis. We would love to hear and see them all! We are extremely grateful for all the love, prayers, and support. She was a wonderful woman and will be deeply missed.

I was saddened to get the news tonight that Janis has passed away. I grew up in Rockport as a neighbor to Ray, Verl, and Delma. Verl was in my class and I have seen him from time to time and had heard often of Ray and his wonderful wife Janis, the best childcare lady in the universe. Several years ago, I stopped to visit Janis and listened to some of her stories about the children she has cared for. I loved that she said that as the children grow older and come back to visit her, they are thrilled that she still wears the same great smelling perfume! What a special lady. And married 57 years! An accomplishment today! My thoughts and prayers are with the family in their loss of this dear lady.

Kelly, we were saddened to hear of the loss of your mom. Although it has been some time since we’ve seen you all, we will always cherish times spent together. Your moms big grin and infectious laugh always made us smile. We still chuckle over her taking a black jelly bean from John while we watched one of Rusty’s games. She had black all over her lips, teeth and hands! She spent the rest of the game flashing her black stained teeth and lips at us. We could not stop laughing which made her do it all the more. She was a hoot and she definitely left her footprint on our hearts. Love, John and Frances Wraspir
