Jean L. Clement, age 89, a native of Sedro-Woolley, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2011 at Birchview Memory Care in Sedro-Woolley.

Jean was born on January 13, 1922, in Sedro-Woolley to Arthur and Pearl (Innis) Coventry, an early pioneer family of Wickersham.

She enjoyed gardening, both for vegetables and flowers, and was very patriotic.  Jean was “salt of the earth,” being a longtime and active member of both the American Legion Auxiliary and the Eagles.

She is survived by her daughters, Jeanette Wicker of Clear Lake and Charlene Cress of Sedro-Woolley; her son, Rod Clement and his wife, Jolene of Shelton, Washington; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jean was preceded in death by her husbands, Lloyd Cope and Charles Clement; son, Leonard Cope; and later, her dear friend, John Lee.

A graveside inurnment service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 25, 2011, at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery with Pastor Steve Fish presiding.  A reception will follow at the Legion Hall.  Services and cremation arrangements are under the care of Lemley Chapel.  Share your memories of Jean, and sign the on-line guest register at www.lemleychapel.com
