Jo Anne Daniels

May 8, 1939 – September 7, 2022

Our most precious Mama, Jo Anne (Higdon) Daniels passed away September 7, 2022, at the age of 83, at her home in Concrete surrounded by her loving family.

Jo was born May 8, 1939, to Vera Lucille (Winfrey) Higdon and Lloyd Pius Higdon in Newberg, Oregon.

Her parents were divorced when she was five and Jo, her little sister, Carol Sue and older brother, Carl shared time between her father’s home in Newberg and her mother’s home in Portland.  Oh, the joy they experienced together playing in the creek!  Jo never missed a chance to enjoy a beautiful creek or the beach and the joy she found in simple things such as a beautiful leaf we would find pressed into so many of her books.

She spent her high school years in Portland, where she graduated from Jefferson High School and also met our father, Lloyd Leon Daniels through a close friend.  They were married March 23, 1957, and after a few years moved to the family home in Portland in 1963, where they raised their children, Randy (Patricia) Daniels, Ronald Daniels, Debra (Wayne) Kitchen, Kenneth (Virginia) Daniels, Jimmy (Verna) Daniels and Donna (Glen) Litke.

Jo moved to Concrete, WA in 1992, where after a study of the Bible, she carried out an earlier desire to become one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.  She had a strong faith in Jehovah’s promise to bring about peaceful conditions for earths inhabitants (Psalm 37:10,11) and shared her hope openly with others.  She always had a hearing ear and was intent on seeing the good in everyone.

Jo is survived by her six children; eight grandchildren, John Daniels, Anthony Daniels, Cheyenne Daniels, Ryan Maxwell, Aaron Maxwell, Dyanna Littke, Trent Kitchen and Kenneth Daniels Jr.; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Higdon and Vera Weber; sister, Carol Sue; brother, Carl.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00, Saturday, October 29, 2022, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 48235 Moen Road, Concrete, WA.  Share your memories of Jo and sign the online guest register.

Jo Anne was beautiful inside and out. She seemed such a gentle person that loved her family and friends very much. She will be missed but we know we will see her again in Paradise. Until then, we love you JoAnne…
