Jorde L. McLennan, age 66, passed away suddenly Tuesday, December 22, 2004, doing what he enjoyed the most; playing golf at Raspberry Ridge Golf Course in Everson, WA. He was born July 9, 1938 in Minot, North Dakota to Donald F. ‘Danny’ and Lois V. Hanson McLennan. Jorde has been a resident of Sedro-Wooley since 1945, where he attended school graduating from Sedro-Woolley High School in 1956. He was an outstanding athlete in high school, earning a four year letter in basketball and baseball. In his early adult career, he was a member of the National Guard and also served as a reserve policeman for the City of Sedro-Woolley Police Department. Jorde worked as a heavy equipment operator in the logging industry; working for Hamilton Brothers for many years and later Janicki Logging for 14 years retiring in 2000. Jorde was married to his best friend Sharon Roughton Parker on June 2, 1972 in Sedro-Woolley. He was an avid golfer; enjoying the fellowship of a large circle of friends, especially his ‘golfing boys’, golfing at various courses as well as working as a starter and marshal at Eaglemont Golf Course. Jorde will be remembered as a special and outstanding person both to his family and his friends. He is survived by his wife Sharon McLennan of the family home in Sedro-Woolley. His children Kim Walley and her husband Shane of Burlington, Peggy Wade of Sedro-Woolley, Holly Adams of Federal Way, Danny McLennan and his wife Jeanne of Sedro-Woolley, Terri Parker of Sedro-Woolley and Sue Parker Anderson and her husband Mark of Burien. 10 grandchildren Chuck, Ryan, P.J., Tonya, Tiffany, Jamie, Dustin, Anthony, Rindala, and Erik. 5 great grandchildren Bryar, Tucker, Reggie, Payton, and Alyssa. A sister Pam Burress of Kenmore, 2 nephews and their spouses Scott and Elaine Burress and Chris and Crystal Burress, and a special brother and sister-in-law Ray and Jan Allen of Sedro-Woolley.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at 2:00PM at Lemley Chapel with Pastor Wendy Tingley of Trinity United Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, December 27th from 9AM to 5PM and up to service time on Tuesday at Lemley Chapel. Memorials are suggested to Washington Junior Golf Association 633 N. Mildred St #C Tacoma, WA 98406.
