Joseph Du Bois, 74 of Sedro-Woolley, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022. Joe was born on February 23, 1948 to Joseph and Charlotte Du Bois in Rosenheim, Germany.

He married Nancy Du Bois; they were married 43 years before divorcing in 2020.

Upon graduation from Queen Anne high school in 1966 he enlisted in the US Navy where he served upon the USS Valley Forge during the Vietnam conflict. After his honorable discharge he worked for his mother in her various business endeavors such as, The Haufbrau House in Bow, WA (1980s). There, he learned the professions head chef and kitchen manager. When the Haufbrau House closed, he worked for The Cranberry Tree Restaurant in Mt. Vernon WA (1990s), and The Iron Skillet in Sedro-Woolley, WA (late 1990s – early 2000s). At the end of his career he worked as a chef for the Upper Skagit Indian Tribe’s Child Development Center where he retired.

During his retirement, he took up the hobbies of baseball memorabilia collecting and re-certified himself as a full class HAM radio operator with the call sign of WA7BBY.

Joe is survived by his only son, Joseph L. Dubois of Sedro-Woolley; his stepchildren, Darren Delong, of Sedro-Woolley, Michelle Hammer, of Lyman, Angela Delong, of Bend Oregon, Scott Delong and Mike Delong both of Alaska.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Phillip Du Bois and Charlotte Du Bois; aunt Janet.
