Josephine Myers, age 78, of Burlington, passed away August 3, 2015, in Seattle Washington. She was born January 4, 1937, in Rockport to Fredrick and Lottie (Tom) Wilson.
Josephine was an Upper Skagit Indian Tribal member. She worked with the Indian Health Board for many years, first as an outreach worker, later as a telephone operator. She enjoyed outdoor activities, was an avid sports fan and was crazy for the Seahawks and Mariners, traveling with the Upper Skagit Elders and arts and crafts. Her most enjoyment came from her family.
She is survived by her sons, Fred Myers and Roland Myers; grandchildren, Elisha Myers and Heidi Fryberg; great-grandchildren, Mekiah Phillips, Logan Fryberg, Leighton Fryberg and Ellie Fryberg; sisters, Violet Fernando and Wanda Pressley; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Josephine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Myers; sisters, Iola Wilson and Lillyanne Lyle and brothers, James Lyle, Willis Lyle and George Moses, Jr.
Prayer Services will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 7:00 pm followed by Funeral Services on Friday August 7, at 10:00 am at the Upper Skagit Tribe Gymnasium. Arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
Josephine was a good friend and wonderful person to have around. She always had a smile and a hug for you. We will miss her.

I remember when I was small growing up with family gatherings you were always there. Loved you pleasant smile. Always willing to help and go the extra mile. You will be truly missed.
You were my 3rd and 4th grade Sunday school Teacher at Church of God Evangelistic Center in Seattle. You watched me grow up. I have known you for 45 years. I enjoyed hearing you sing “How Great Thou Art. ” Your singing touched the lives of many. I will miss you.

So sorry to hear of her passing. Knew her from working at the health board. She was gracious, classy, warm and friendly and had a beautiful voice. She was great!
I learned so much from Auntie, she was very knowledgeable on native customs, people, family & ways. I keep waiting for her to walk through my door with that smile saying “hey Pep”. Auntie you are already truly missed, love you so much. Rest in peace until we meet again…
