Joyce Adele Harrison passed away February 21st, 10 days after her 90th birthday.
She was born in Conrad, MT, the only child of Dale & Media (Sparks) Higgins. They moved to Seattle when Joyce was a teenager & she graduated from Queen Anne HS.
She met her husband Walt at a USO dance & they married in 1950 on her birthday. She lived the majority of her married life in Newhalem & Diablo before Walt retired from Seattle City Light in 1988 & they moved to Burlington.
Since the 50’s they owned a variety of RVs & enjoyed traveling & playing cards with their Campers 31 RV Club until they were in their 70s.
She enjoyed sewing, crafts, sharing recipes & feeding “her” wild birds.
Joyce will be greatly missed by her husband of 69 years Walt; her son, Jerry (Ida) of Everett; her daughter, Judy Clark (Wade) of Lyman; granddaughter, Lisa Harrison (Kevin Roach) of Arlington.
Arrangement are under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
Uncle Walt, Judy(Wade), and Jerry(Ida), please know my heart, thoughts, and prayers go out to you during this time. I would love to express how very much Aunt Joyce meant to me. She and I spoke by phone or wrote our notes to each other over the years. I have a crocheted basketball she made for my 1st son, it moved on to my second son and now each of my 6 grandkids have played with it too. She will be in my heart forever. May God Bless
Joyce was one of the Very Best Moms. I know because my friend Judy is her daughter and she is a Very Best Daughter.
I never saw Joyce without a smile on her face. She and Walt always had a warm greeting.
90 years well-lived and loved.
My parents Gail and Virginia Cross of Anacortes were very good friends of Joyce’s parents Dale and Media. I remember meeting Joyce many years ago when her folks were still alive and living in Anacortes. Very nice family and Joyce looked so much like Media. My condolences to her family at this difficult time. I know she was welcomed in the heavenly new home with the Lord.
Love and condolences to Walt, Judy, and Jerry. This is also a tough loss for the “City Light” family.
My thoughts & prayers are with Joyce’s family & friends at this difficult time. May your Faith, Family, Friends & Many Happy Memories help you in the days to come. You have a Very Special Guardian Angel looking down on you 24/7. Take Care.
One of a kind sister-in-law. Sure going to miss her.
Our condolences to all.
