Manke, Kim mtncropManke Kim DogManke, Kim Obit PhotoOn Saturday, August 15, 2015, Kim Doyle Manke and his beloved dog Jake left this world together at their home in Clear Lake, WA.

Kim was born October 5, 1957 in Atlantic, Iowa to Lawrence J. and Patricia Ann (Turner) Manke. Most of Kim’s life was spent in Washington but he always referred to Atlantic as “back home”. He was an avid hunter, motorcycle rider and fisherman who loved to sit on the banks of the Snake River catching catfish with his Uncle Lee. He worked as a roofer at Savage Roofing until a work related accident permanently disabled him in 2001.

Kim’s marriage to Bonnie Nurmikko blessed him with his two sons, Justin and Shane. Which in turn gave him three of his greatest joys, grandson Chase and granddaughters Braelyn and Gabrielle.

Kim was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Patty, favorite aunt Wanda Bjorn Robinson and best friend and fishing competitor Uncle Lee Manke. He is survived by his sons, Justin (Michelle) & Shane (Dina); grandchildren, Chase, Braelyn & Gabrielle; sisters, Peggy (Jerry) Lindquist, Kathy (Greg) Johnston; brother, Rick Manke and numerous nieces and nephews.

Go rest high on the Mountain Kim and Jake, we love and miss you.

Donations in Kim’s name may be made to SPOT (saving pets one at a time), P.O. Box 211, Burlington, WA 98233.

Graveside Inurnment services will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will follow at Memorial Park, 703 Pacific Street, Sedro-Woolley immediately following. So sad to hear of Kims passing,my sincere condolences to all of his loved ones. Kim was a close friend of our family and we all have many fond memories of happy times together. When I think of Kim I will always remember him, with that blond hair, those bright blue eyes and a great roofers tan, laughing and saying “she wants me” about every cute woman that looked anywhere even remotley close to his direction. I see him so clearly, and in my memory, he will always be laughing. Rest easy my friend,Kris

Your journey on this land has come to an end,
Our sadness, in time will hopefully mend.
Your family loves you and will miss you brother,
Say hello and a big hug to our Dad and Mother.
We will celebrate your life come next Saturday,
Talk about the good times with your friends and family.
Save me a seat, maybe by a good fishing hole,
We’ll go after a big cat fish, I’ll bring my pole.
Until that time when my time comes to an end,
I will never forget you, remembering you as my brother and friend.
I love you Leroy, rest in peace.

Kim was a large part of our lives for 20 years until we retired. You could always depend on Kim taking pride in the quality of his work.He could always be counted on to bring out a smile. His pride and joy were his sons and his Harley. God bless him and keep him close.
