Larry H. Andrews SR, age 75, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2011 at his home in Sedro-Woolley, Washington.  He was born June 12, 1935 in Gunnison, Colorado to Edward and Beulah (Witt) Andrews.

Larry grew up in the Alger area where he attended school.  Following his early education, he joined the U.S. Marines. In 1956 Larry and Jeanette were united in marriage.  They celebrated 52 years together until her passing in 2008.  They resided in Las Vegas for a short period of time until returning to Skagit County to raise their family.  In 1979 they moved to their final home in Sedro-Woolley, Washington where they lived for 31 years.  Larry owned and operated Construction Specialists doing residential and commercial construction.

Larry enjoyed fishing, family barbeques, traveling and camping, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  For many years, he and his family enjoyed spending time at their other home on the Methow River in Twisp.  In 2009, Larry became a member of the Lyman Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Tina Newman and her husband Mike of Mount Vernon and his son, Larry Andrews Jr. and his companion Jennifer Mapes of Sedro-Woolley.  5 grandchildren, Jamie Anderson, Kristen Andrews and her companion Joseph McCartt, Kellen Anderson and his wife Tristyn, Andy Andrews and his companion Rachel Hitt, and Christopher Andrews.  6 great-grandchildren, Riley, Kaden, Hannah, Madison, Owen, and Alayna.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jeanette, a daughter, Cindy Corona, his brother, Dan and sister, Wanda.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, April 23, 2011at 11:00AM at the Lyman Baptist Church with Mr. Jim Cook officiating.  A reception will follow the service at the church  with interment and military honors  at 2:00 PM at the Burlington Cemetery.  Visitation will be available at Lemley Chapel from 9:00 AM to5:00 PM Thursday and Friday.  Memorials are suggested to Children’s Hospital or North Puget Oncology.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to Leo and Pat Sebastian for the special care extended to Larry.

    To Larry’s family:

    Gil and I are so sorry for your loss. He was such a fine gentleman. Larry did lots of work for us over the years and he was a man that could be trusted to “get the job done” honestly and fairly.

    Gil remembers fondly the fishing trip to Alaska that he and Larry and a few other men went on. Lots of fish were caught on that trip. Lots of good pictures too.

    We are so sorry that we are in Arizona and will be unable to attend his service.
