LARRY MAX ROUGHTON, 70, a longtime Sedro-Woolley resident passed away at the United General Hospital in Sedro-Woolley on Monday, May 26, 2003. He was born on September 12, 1932 in Lyman, WA, the son of Kenneth and Annetta Capaan Roughton. Larry was raised and attended school in Lyman and graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School. After graduation he joined the U.S. Navy and in 1957 he was united in marriage to Jacqueline Stangland. Larry worked at Northern State Hospital for many years as a butcher. He moved with his family to Eastern Washington for a time, returning to Sedro-Woolley and went to work for Job Corp until his retirement in 1994. Larry enjoyed fishing, hunting, was an avid baseball fan, and spending time with his grandsons Tyler and Kyle. Larry is survived by 4 daughters Krista Millar and her husband Chris, Karen Slack and her husband Gary of Walla Walla, WA, Karla Minney and her husband Steve of Cypress, TX and Kathy Sterling of Walla Walla, WA. 3 sons Kelly Roughton and his wife Susan of Sedro-Woolley, WA and Kenneth Roughton and Kerry Roughton both of Walla Walla, WA. 1 brother Chuck Roughton and his wife Ened of Idaho and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Jacqueline in 1962.
Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2003 at 11:00 AM at the Lyman Cemetery with Pastor Rick Miles of the Day Creek Chapel officiating. Visitation will be Friday, May 30, 2003 from 9AM to 5PM at Lemley Chapel. A reception will follow the services at Riverfront Park in Sedro-Woolley.
