Lisa Moody

Wednesday, July 8th, 2020

Lisa Corrina Moody, 53, passed away unexpectedly on March 23, 2020 at Skagit Valley Hospital. Lisa was born on November 18, 1966 in Sedro-Woolley, WA to Danny and Juanita Moody.

Growing up, Lisa enjoyed playing the violin, swimming, horseback riding and a good candy bar. As a teenager, you could find her watching a soap opera or listening to rock and roll music. Singing into her hairbrush, talking on the phone and shopping were a few of Lisa’s favorite pastimes. As a self-proclaimed foodie, she openly announced her cravings and did not have to be pregnant to do so. Lisa’s love for animals started young and continued her entire life, gladly taking in animals needing a loving home.

In 1986, she married Larry Gillooly and they welcomed a son, Derek in July 1987.  Five years later she welcomed a second son, Dillon with Dooley Fox.  While raising her boys, Lisa had various jobs in the food industry, health care, and janitorial at the Sedro-Woolley School district. Lisa was a caretaker to her maternal Grandma Elva “Granny” Bird, who she had a unique bond with, until her passing in 2015. Lisa was proud of being a grandma and never turned down an opportunity to watch her granddaughters. Their fondest memories of her include picking out their favorite candy at the store and watching Lisa style her hair.  Lisa will be missed by her family and friends although there is peace knowing she is in a better place.

Lisa is survived by her sons, Derek Gillooly (Vanessa), Dillon Fox; grandchildren, Logan and Morgan Gillooly; father, Danny Moody (Donna); mother, Jaunita Burns (Jan); sisters, Shonie Shanes  (Mike),  Kimberly Henry; brother, Todd Homedew; step-brothers, Darin Burns, Jason Burns, Easton Burns (Tabby); step-sister, Tana Yarber (Shawn); former partner, Jerry Mann; and many close friends.

She is preceded in death by her grandma, Hatti Moody; grandpa, Brice Moody, grandpa, Val Schramsky; step-grandpa, Buck Bird; grandma, Elva “Granny” Bird who she was extremely close to.

A Graveside Service for Lisa will be held on Friday, July 24, 2020 at 11:00am at Union Cemetery in Sedro-Woolley.  Share memories of Lisa and sign the online guest register.
