Lylian Kathryn Pape, 90, a longtime Sedro-Woolley area resident, passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon.

She was born on December 1, 1919 in Van Horn, Washington one of nine children of Ray & Ethel Grimm.

Lylian attended grade school in Sauk, WA and graduated from Concrete High School.

In 1937 she was united in marriage to Jim Pape and together they made their home in the upper Skagit Valley until his death in 1974.

Lylian enjoyed fishing, gardening and needlework.

She is survived by her sister, June Hackett of Arlington, WA and a brother, Jim Grimm of Maple Valley, WA.  A niece, Carol Garzina, nephew Jim H. Pape and numerous other nieces and nephews.   Besides her husband Jim, she was also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Ernest, Howard, Jay, Floyd and Earl Grimm and a sister, Eva Loft.

Lylian’s family wish to thank her many friends and the staff at Life Care Center of Skagit Valley in Sedro-Woolley who visited and cared for her.

Graveside Services will be held on Monday, May 3, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Forest Park Cemetery in Concrete with Pastor Jim Cannon officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.

    Aunt Lil will be remembered as one of the sweetest Ladies I ever knew. I remember all the beautiful crocheted doillies, table clthes and bed spreads she made. Dad”s nickname for her was “Spud” now they will be together forever more.
