Lynda Tilley

Tuesday, February 5th, 2019

Lynda Darlene Tilley, 70, of Sedro-Woolley, passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at her home.

Lynda was born on March 19, 1948 in Vallejo, California and eventually moved with her family to the Midwest where she lived in Topeka, Kansas and graduated from Highland Park High School in 1966.

After moving out to the Pacific Northwest, Lynda married James Tilley on October 17, 1973 and they eventually made their home in Sedro-Woolley.

Lynda was known as the “flower lady” in Sedro-Woolley and was a long-time employee of the floral shop Flowers on Woodworth.  She had also worked as a Florist for Johnson’s Sedro-Woolley Floral, and Johnsons Floral in Bellingham, WA. Lynda loved helping her customers, friends, and family to create beautiful arrangements for their special occasions.  Outside of the floral shop she was an active member of her community and participated as a commissioner for the Sedro-Woolley planning commission.

When she wasn’t working in the flower shop, Lynda loved to be at home working in her yard.  She spent a lot of time tending to her flowers, taking care of her chickens, and delivering fresh eggs to those she knew.  She loved reading good books, listening to live music when she could and spending quality time with her good friends.  What brought Lynda the most joy was spending time with her puppies; Tyberius and Sienna as well as her grand dogs, Darby, Eloise, Tinker and Quinzhee.

Lynda is survived by many who love her and will miss her husband, James Tilley; her two daughters, Rachelle Tilley and Hannah Tilley and her fiancé Rick Simcock; brother, Max French; sister-in-law, Susan French; niece, Amber Samuilis and her husband Dan Samuilis; step-sisters; Janet Bennett, Teresa Maley, Patti Shafer and Carolyn Randall. She is preceded in death by her mother, Lois Maxine Thorne; step-father, Neal Thorne; father, Paul Edward French and her nephew, Justin French.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at 1:00PM at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley.  A reception will follow at the Local Taproom 20 in an opportunity to share stories and celebrate the beautiful presence that Lynda brought to all of our lives. Arrangements are under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
