Tuesday, November 17th, 2015

Lynn Marie Gaines Metcalf, 71, passed away at her home on November 8, 2015.

She was born on February 14, 1944 in Everett to Mildred (Pillsbury) and Roland (Rollie) Gaines.  Lynn attended grade school in Everett, and junior high and high school in Sedro-Woolley, graduating in the top 10 of the Class of 1962.  After high school she attended ITT Peterson School of Business in Seattle for 2 years and began working for Cascade Natural Gas.  Her career with Cascade spanned 40 years and after moving into management, she lived in Yakima, Walla Walla, and Port Orchard.  She retired in 2006 as Senior Director, Western Region and re-located to Burlington.

Lynn is survived by her 3 children; Cinda Metcalf of Sedro-Woolley, Susan Slotemaker (Derek) and Scott Metcalf (Kim) of Burlington; sister, Kathie Westerfield of La Quinta, CA; brothers, Steve Gaines of Alger and David Gaines of Bellingham; 5 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her little white dog Stanley. She will be sorely missed by her family and several life-long friends, dating back to grade school, whose close friendships and support she greatly treasured.

At Lynn’s request, no services will be held.  Donations are suggested to Meals on Wheels, the Humane Society, or Hospice of the Northwest.  Cremation arrangements are under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
