Magdalena Heller Hingston James Bruhn, passed over to be with her Lord on Monday September 28, 2009 at The Bridge in Mount Vernon, Washington with her family at her side having recently celebrated her 95th birthday.
She was born September 16, 1914 in Oak Harbor, Washington the daughter of Martinus and Elizabeth Bessie Heller. Magdalena grew up in Oak Harbor where she attended school and she graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 1932. Magdalena resided in Coupeville, Sedro-Woolley, Burlington, Granite Falls and Marysville over the years and she worked at Cascade Frozen Foods and Skagit Valley Laboratories. She enjoyed gardening and was active in her fellowship group in Marysville.
Magdalena was preceded in death by her parents; 3 husband’s and 9 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her 3 sons, David Hingston and his wife, Laura of Arlington, James Hingston and his wife, Judy of Mount Vernon and Howard James and his wife, Ann of Alger and 2 daughters, Sue Didway and her husband, Bill of Sedro-Woolley and Charlene Guidinger and her husband, John of Mount Vernon. Also numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
‘She freely admitted, and her children knew, that which ever one happened to be with her at the time would be referred to as her favorite.’
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at The Bridge for their special care given to Magdalena.
Graveside Services will be held on Friday, October 2, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Green Hills Memorial Cemetery on Gardner Road in Burlington with Pastor John Birk of His Place Church officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army.
