Margaret Violet ‘Mills’ Robertson passed away Thursday, July 11, 2002 at St. Joseph Hospital in Bellingham, WA at the age of 85 years. She was born January 1, 1917 in Bonesteel, South Dakota the daughter of Earl Clinton and Eithel Bernice Cork Mills. Margaret was married to Floyd Robertson on June 18, 1943 in Port Orchard, WA and he preceded her in death on December 17, 1974. She had been a resident of Sedro-Woolley since 1945 until moving to Mount Vernon ten years ago. Margaret was a homemaker and for many years she operated a day care from her home. She enjoyed sewing, ceramics, traveling, and her grandchildren most of all . Margaret was a member of the Grange, Home Extension Club, and the Hillcrest Christian Fellowship Church of Mount Vernon. She is survived by her five children De Elda Israel and her husband Steve of Black Diamond, WA, Marian Hayes and her husband Robert of Oxford, NJ, Louella Tantzen and her husband George of Covington, WA, Dale Robertson of Sedro-Woolley, and Judy Blacksher of Concrete. 2 brothers Marvin Mills and his wife Opal of Springfield, MO, Willis Mills and his wife Jean of Sedro-Woolley and 4 sisters Beulah Gilbert and her husband Raymond of Springfield, MO, Ruth Dummer of Tillamook, OR, Hazel Fritz of Butte, NB, and Leona Mathis and her husband Virgil of Mount Vernon, WA.
11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and several step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 grandsons Andrew James Robertson and Scott Allen Robertson and 3 brothers Sidney, Leslie, and Earl Jr. Mills.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, July 18, 2002 at 2:00 PM at Lemley Chapel with Pastor Ivan Timm of the Hillcrest Christian Fellowship Church of Mount Vernon officiating. Interment will follow at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Sedro-Woolley Museum or the American Diabetes Assn 557 Roy St Lower Level Seattle, WA 98109-4219.
