Marjorie Louise Chissus, 95, a resident of Bellingham, WA, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Mount Baker Care Center surrounded by her family.
Marjorie was born on May 18, 1921 in Yakima, WA, the daughter of Ralph & Florence (Houghton) Davis. She was raised and attended school in Wapato, graduating from Wapato High School with the class of 1939.
In September of 1939 Marjorie was united in marriage to Ed Chissus and over the years they raised their family and made their home in Wapato, Sunnyside, Spokane and Yakima. Marjorie worked as a dental assistant and officer manager for dentists in each of those communities for over 35 years until her retirement. She moved to Bellingham in 2002 to be near her family.
Marjorie was an AVID Mariners fan, she enjoyed playing golf, searching for Indian arrowheads, cooking and knitting items for the homeless and charitable organizations. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bellingham, joining in many senior activities, and thoroughly enjoyed being around her family and friends.
Marjorie is survived by her daughters, Judy McFarland and husband Robert of Gig Harbor and Jane Connor of Bellingham, WA; her son, Terry Chissus and wife Vicki of Puyallup, WA; 8 grandchildren, Shane, Shannon, Kelley, Erin, Cari, Allan, Marne and Shelby; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren, sister, Dorothy Powell of Ellensburg, WA; daughter-in-law, Sandra Lane of Spokane, WA and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Ed Chissus; granddaughter, Lori Heggem; sister, Joanne Cruz and brother, Walter Holder.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Bellingham, 1031 N. Garden Street. Private committal services were held at the Forest Park Cemetery in Concrete. Memorials in honor of Marjorie are suggested to Whatcom Hospice House.

    Aunt Margie will truly missed. I remember mom and Dad take us to her house, I loved playing with all her dental tools.? she was so sweet, and always loved to see Joann Mcgraw, her sister.
