Marvin King Moore passed away Friday, September 11, 2009; in Anacortes, WA.

He was born to Vasil and Dorothea Moore in Jolley, Iowa on October 16, 1927. Marvin grew up in Sedro Woolley, WA where he graduated from Sedro Woolley High School. He then went onto graduate from the University of Washington where he earned a degree in Business Administration in 1950. He was active in the Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity.

Following college, Marvin was an auditor for the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He held the rank of Second Lieutenant.

Mr. Moore worked as a Certified Public Accountant CPA for Le Master and Daniels, The Farm Credit Banks, Chase Manhattan Bank on Wall Street and the State of Washington. He also did some part time modeling at the Bon Marche. Being an anchor partner, he performed the accounting for the Shakey’s Pizza Parlor chain with numerous locations in the Pacific Northwest. Marvin was an actively practicing CPA right up until his death with numerous clients. While living in Spokane, he volunteered for the Armed Forces Lilac Parade, served on the Ballet Society Board and was the treasurer at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. Marvin was a resident of Anacortes since 1997 coming here from the Seattle area.
He and his wife Joanne enjoyed camping in the family motor home, hiking, travelling, photography and the peace of nature.

Marvin is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Joanne, daughters Connie Turley and Karen Holmes; one grandchild and two great grandchildren. He also has one sister, Georgina Davidson of Port Angeles.
We will miss you Daddy and keep ‘accounting’ for us all!

A ‘Celebration of Life’ Memorial Service will be held at the graveside at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery 1450 Wicker Rd in Sedro-Woolley on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 10:00AM. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society of Skagit Valley.
