Mary M. Jensen, 97, a longtime Sedro-Woolley resident, went to be with her Lord on Monday, December 24, 2007 at the Life Care Center of Skagit Valley in Sedro-Woolley.
She was born on March 30, 1910 in Oak Hill, Missouri, the daughter of Perry & Grace Sauders. She was raised and attended school in Missouri.
On September 18, 1930 Mary was united in marriage to Lloyd Jensen in Steelville, Missouri. They made their home and raised their family on a turkey farm in Missouri, where they provided turkey’s to the U.S. Armed Forces.
Mary was a devoted wife and mother and worked right along side of Lloyd on the farm until they moved to Washington in 1946, settling in the Cain Lake area near Alger in Whatcom County. There she continued to can goods, quilt and work in her flower garden. Mary has made her home in Sedro-Woolley for the past several years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 65 years, Lloyd in 1995 and 3 grandchildren, Farrell Gene Pennington, Gloria May Pennington-Warren and Mary Louise Schmauder.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Delores Royal and her husband, Bob of Concrete and Mary Lou Cooke of Bakersfield, CA. 6 grandchildren, Margie Cooke-Martinson, Mike Cooke, Richard Pennington, LaLonnie Iotte, Shannon McKerigan and Lloyd Munn; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church in Sedro-Woolley.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 28, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Sedro-Woolley with Pastor Richard Coursen officiating. Interment will follow at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. Visitation is available at and services under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
