Monica Maria Abernathy, age 34, passed away Nov. 20, 2012 at UCSF hospital in San Francisco, CA. She was born Oct. 5, 1978 in Sedro-Woolley, WA.
Monica graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School in 1996, and spent two years at Skagit Valley College. Monica loved being a mother and spending time with her family. She enjoyed riding ATV’s, traveling, and her dog, Pork Chop. In 2006, Monica and her loving partner Justin moved to Hoopa, CA where she resided until her sudden death from a brain aneurism.
Monica left behind her partner of over 12 years, Justin Walter Soltysik, as well as their six month old son Justin Joshua Soltysik (J.J.). She is also survived by her father, Lloyd Paul Abernathy; stepmother, Michelle Scotti Abernathy; brothers, Paul, Gene, and Jeremy Abernathy, and Chet Goodrow; sisters, Shani Johnson and Jamie Goodrow; several in-laws, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie Ann Abernathy and her nephew, Joshua Goodrow.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012 at Lemley Chapel, followed by a committal service at Union Cemetery, officiated by Linda Haddon, Celebrant.
