N.T. “Dynamite” Presnell, 85, passed away in his home in Burlington, WA, on Saturday, March 25, 2017, surrounded by his family.

He was born February 26, 1932 to parents Nathan Talbert and Ider Presnell in Wolf Creek, TN. He was an only child until widowed Ider married Rube Mooneyham when N.T. was an infant and then he was joined with 3 sisters, Essie, Bessie and Shirley and one brother, Homer. He also had 3 older sisters born to his father in a previous marriage.

He was raised in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee where he learned his lifelong passion of gardening and living off the land. His Grandfather, Enoch was very active in his life and he treasured the time spent with him. Later in life he became an unbeatable horse shoe competitor. But most important was his love and devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ, his family, and caretaker of those in need. He was a deacon of Calvary Baptist Church in Burlington, WA and loved his pastor and congregation. He was a hardworking and devoted husband and father, often doing without to provide for them.

He is survived by his spouse, Marie; children, Michael, Steven, Wesley, and Teresa; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his Mother, Father, Stepfather, and son, Curtis; brother, Homer and 3 sisters.

A Memorial Service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 324 Avon Ave., Burlington on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 1:00 pm. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers please bring a vegetable plant as the family will have a memorial garden this year. N.T. viewed flowers as a waste of money, claiming “you couldn’t eat them.” Any donations can be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Burlington, WA.  N. T.’s final resting place will be the Lyman Cemetery, at a private Graveside service.  Arrangements are under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
