NANCY JANE BRUMLEY, 71, a longtime Concrete, WA area resident passed away on Wednesday June 25, 2003 at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon.
She was born on November 27, 1931 in Danville, Illinois, the daughter of William & Margaret Houran Morrissey. She was raised and attended school in Danville. She earned a Nursing Degree from the teaching hospital in Danville, working there as a Registered Nurse until the early 1950’s when she moved to Pasco, WA where she again worked as a Registered Nurse. She was united in marriage to Burdette Brumley on November 5, 1955 in Pasco, WA and they made their home there until 1965 when they moved to Seattle. In 1977 they moved to Concrete and Nancy worked as a Registered Nurse at United General Hospital in Sedro-Woolley and at East Valley Medical Center in Concrete until her retirement in 2000.
Nancy enjoyed knitting, making a variety of items for family and friends.
She is survived by her 5 children and their spouses, James and Betty Brumley of Sedro-Woolley, William & Marcy Brumley of Lynnwood, Daniel & Tonya Brumley of Mount Vernon, Timothy & Keri Brumley of Concrete and Kathy & Brad Monrad also of Concrete. 2 granddaughters, Marie & Katrina Brumley of Mount Vernon. She was preceded in death by her husband Burdette in 1998 and by a sister, Mary Ellen Sedlmayr.
A Life Celebration will be held and announced at a later date. The family suggests memorials be made to the Humane Society of Skagit County or to S.P.O.T.
