Her spunk always amazed us. Tossing her cane aside so no one would think “She was an old lady”
Not using her personal alarm as she did “not want to get it wet or wear it out”, making tea towels
every year to pass out at the family reunion picnic. Baiting her sister into an argumentative discussion
and winking at me like “She’s funny when she gets miffed.” So proud of her Cougar. We will miss her.
    Hugs,
    George and Colleen

Nellie was my neighbor in Burlington at an apartment complex on Hulbush Lane, and quite an inspiration to me.
For Nellie’s age,she was amazing. she would do little projects and take care of her little yard. Sometimes we would have tea and cookies and talk about anything and everything. Her greatest pride was her 1969 Mercury Cougar. It wasgorgeous and she told me that she bought it brand new at Cofflin Forn, andshe even told me the name of the color of paint, Lime Mist. She would proudly start her engine and make sure it was warmed up and then leave for the store. She w as a very accomplished lady and she will always stick out in my mind. Independant and proud and very sure of her self. She always said, “The day they take my keys away & I cannot drive my beloved car anymore, and be independant, is the day they just better carry me out feet first”…
I will always remember Nellie Packer.

Nellie, my dear and special friend of whom I will remember lovingly. For all the special times we spent together, for her kindness and emotional support to me. She was one in a million with a heart of gold. I only wish I had known her longer. Love pours out of me when I think of her. Much love, Louana
