Raymond Daniel ‘Danny’ Boome, Jr. 64, a resident of the Lummi Tribal Community, passed away at his home on Saturday, February 1, 2020.

Danny was born in Mount Vernon, WA on April 30, 1955, the son of Raymond & Frances (Williams) Boome, Sr.  He was raised and attended school in the Sedro-Woolley area.

Danny worked for many years as a tribal commercial fisherman and also provided security and many tribal powwows.  He later provided janitorial and maintenance services for the Northwest Indian College, the Lummi Industrial Business Council and the Lummi Commercial Council.  He was involved in the Lummi Stommish Festival, he volunteered with the Paddle to Lummi boating festival in 2007 and 2019 and for many other Tribal festivities over the years.

Danny was a member of the 1910 Indian Shaker Church.  He also was a big sports fan, rooting for the Seahawks, Mariners and for the local Lummi sports teams.

Danny is survived by his longtime companion, Ruth Solomon at the family home at Lummi; his sons, Buddy Boome of Bellingham and Guy Boome of Lummi and his daughter, Lora Boome of Lummi; his sister, Robin Boome of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Kymberlee, Cordelia, Ezeriah, Dayzha and Ashton Boome, Harlow, Izabella, and Hendrix Boome-Heaton and Jayden and Katelynn Boome and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters, Shirley Boome Evans, Victoria ‘Vicki’ Boome Solomon and Debra Boome Morris.

A Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at 7:00pm at the 1910 Indian Shaker Church in Concrete followed by Funeral Services on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 10:00am.  Interment will be at the Sauk Indian Cemetery.  Services are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.  Share memories of Danny and sign the online guest register.
