Reba Lynn Garcia

Thursday, July 21st, 2022

Reba ‘Reebs’ Lynn Garcia, 60, of Sedro-Woolley, passed away July 21, 2022 peacefully in her sleep.  Reba was born January 4, 1962 to mother, Patti and father, Wayne West in Aurora, Colorado.  She had two brothers, Michael and Dwight, as well as a sister, Debra.  She was the last living member of her siblings.  Reba obtained her high school GED, and later went on to complete her Surgical Technician certification at Bellingham Technical College.  Reba worked various jobs for both the Skagit and United General Hospitals for over 35 years including the kitchens at Skagit Valley Hospital, the purchasing department, and later in the surgical wing at both hospitals, assisting surgeons with procedures.  Reba loved helping people.  She also loved traveling the country to warm destinations and dining out at the fine restaurants she would research in her travels.  She was also a masterful cook herself and enjoyed sharing her culinary talents by creating extraordinary meals for her family and friends.  Reba married Patrick VanNatta in 1989, with whom she had her only child.  She later went on to get remarried to Ricardo Garcia in 2006, to whom she was with until her passing.  Reba is survived by her son, Ian VanNatta; her husband, Ricardo Garcia; stepchildren, Aliscia and Micheal Garcia.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1-4pm this Sunday July 31, 2022 at the family home.

So sorry to hear of Reba’s passing. I worked with her at both United General and Skagit Valley Hospitals. Such a pleasure to work with. She had been worshipping with me at Bethlehem Lutheran Church before Covid hit. She will be missed. I loved that little gal💔🙏

Aunt Reba was a bright spark. An excellent cook, she gave Real hugs and had the cutest giggle. Her smiles were infectious. She gave everything full-steam: her work, her fun, her love. She helped create a cherub baby who became a caring man.
May those who love her find peace in the joy of her memory.

My heart hurt to hear that Reba had passed away. As her aunt, we had a special connection that became stronger when she lived with us during her early teen years. Even with a lot of difficult circumstances in her life, Reba’s smile would light up a room and her positive attitude gave her the ability to find her path.

Although we did not see each other very often as the years went by, I loved Reba like a daughter and I will miss her dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with Ian, Ricardo and all of the family and friends who have lost a wonderful lady.

Reba, though we haven’t seen each other except a rare running into in years, you were a big part of my life for many years. You were my roommate, co-worker, confidant and best friend. Our boyfriends then husbands were besties also. We had so much fun for a lot of years. I’m sorry we didn’t stay in touch better. And how ironic that I am living in your old hometown and you were in mine! I think of you often, “remember when”… we had a lot of stories to tell. I will miss you, but you will always have a little place in my heart. Love you girl. ❤️

Reba, you will be greatly missed! As a little girl, I loved our camping trips together and our special jam sessions on car rides! As a teenager, I enjoyed just spending time in the kitchen chatting about all the things. As an adult, I always appreciated the support from you and Uncle Rick from afar! I am blessed to have such special memories! My dear family, may these special memories provide you with comfort during these times! Love you Reebs, I’ll make sure to whip it good and to keep rocking our car jam sessions!
