Richard C. ‘Dick’ Hoy passed away peacefully Saturday, June 7, 2003 at the Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon, WA at the age of 65 years. He was born in Anaconda, MT, July 8, 1937 the second son of Hugh Hoy and Deborah Bertram. Dick was preceded in death by both his parents and his only brother Robert. Dick is survived by his long time love, Sandra Tropple of Sedro-Woolley. Two sons Kirk Hoy of Marysville, WA and Greg and his wife Maria Hoy of Cincinnati, OH. Two daughters Carri and her husband Mike Schlade of Marysville, WA and Kelly and her husband Ron Anderson of Arlington, WA. Seven beautiful grandchildren Amy, Stephanie, Karina, Krista, Kelsey, Dylan, and Mckensie. Two nieces and numerous friends that he loved as family.
Dick was raised in Butte, MT and learned his trade in the US Navy from 1956-1962 working with computers. He moved to Seattle and worked for Lockheed for a number of years, then he started his own data processing company DP Enterprises with his partner Edward Benshoof. Dick retired when he was 42 and moved to Sedro-Woolley and purchased a 280 acre cattle ranch IM Ranch. He enjoyed golfing and fishing, but most of all he loved to tell stories and jokes talking to people and always having the time to be a good listener. Dick enjoyed his life at Iron Mountain Ranch. A Celebration of Dick’s Life will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2003 from 3PM to 6PM at the home of Kelly and Ron Anderson 820 148th St NE in Arlington, WA. Memorials are suggested to American Liver Foundation PBC Fund for the Cure, 1425 Pompton Ave., Cedar Grove, NJ 07009. Arrangements and cremation under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
