Richard L. ‘Dick’ Clark

Richard L. ‘Dick’ Clark, 79, a lifelong Skagit County resident, passed away on March 22, 2018 at Skagit Valley Hospital.

Dick was born on November 10, 1938, the son of Hobert & Kate (Keller) Clark in Concrete, where he was raised and attended school, graduating from Concrete High School in 1957.

He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Germany.

In 1964 he married Doris Dills and they made their home and raised their family in Hamilton until she passed away in 1980.

Dick worked as log truck driver for Zee Brothers in Darrington for many years and also for several other logging contractors over the years until his retirement in 2000.

He enjoyed his work and tinkering on cars and motorcycles in his garage.

Dick is survived by his children, Carl Clark of Hamilton, Ron Clark of Tonasket, Debbie Sloan of Mount Vernon, Sherrie Austin of Point Roberts, and Diane Kowalczyk of Tonasket; a sister Lois Holbrook and several grand and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides his wife Doris he was also preceded in death by his parents, his longtime companion, Linda Nieshe, and brother, John Clark.

Private inurnment will be at the Hamilton Cemetery. Cremation arrangements are thru Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley. Share memories of Richard and sign the online guest register.

    SO MANY MEMORIES OF CAMPING AND GATHERINGS. THERE WASN’T A DULL MOMENT WHEN OUR FAMILIES WERE TOGETHER. THINGS HAVE TRULY CHANGED OVER THE YEARS.
