Richard Lee Gustafson, age 65, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2009 in Burlington, Washington.

He was born July 14, 1944 in Boone, Iowa to Arthur and Florence Reynoldson Gustafson. Richard grew up in Iowa attending school and for the past 30 years has resided in Skagit County first in Burlington and the past 18 years in Sedro-Woolley. He worked as a copier technician for the Zerox Co for 30 years.
Richard was married to JoAnne Rowley on December 7, 1979 in Burlington and they would have celebrated 30 years of marriage this year. He was a member of the Model Club and was an avid wood worker who built and finished his home and he also enjoyed NASCAR and auto racing.

Richard is survived by his wife, JoAnne Gustafson of the family home in Sedro-Woolley. Four children, Doug Gustafson and his wife Brandi and David Gustafson all of Des Moines, Iowa, Deanna Stajcar and her husband Gary of Bondurant, Iowa, and Arletta Gustafson of Tacoma. Five grandchildren, James, Scott, Bryan, Steven, and Anthony Gustafson. A brother, Raymond Gustafson of Des Moines, Iowa and two nieces, Jan and Julie. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Gustafson.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at the family home on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at 3:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to your favorite charity.
