On April 23, 2021 Robert Hooper passed away at the age of 80. He was born on July 7, 1940 in Darrington, Washington to Thaddeus and Sella (Wood) Hooper. At the age of 2, he lost his father in a tragic logging accident. Sella and kids moved to Birdsview, WA where he attended school in Concrete. In 1958 he enlisted into the United States Navy as an Aviation Structural Mechanic until his honorable discharge in 1964. Returning home, he was united in marriage to Bonnie McDougle of Sedro-Woolley, WA. After working a few years in the area mills, he landed at Sakuma Brother’s Farms in Burlington, WA. There he was employed for the next 41 years before retiring. He spent his last years surrounded by family in Northern California, tending his garden beds of tomatoes of all kinds.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Roy Hooper, Arver Hooper, and Gene Hooper; sisters, Carol Miller, Doris Howard, and Faye Bryson.

Bob is survived by his sons, Kevin (Donna) Browning, Christopher (Sam) Hooper; daughters, Samanatha (Edmond) Malak, and Jamie Hooper. He leaves behind many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 1:00pm at the Darrington Cemetery in Darrington, Washington. Reception to follow at the Darrington Community Center, 570 Sauk Ave, Darrington, WA 98241.  Share your memories of Bob and sign the online guest register.
