Robert Joe Brown, Sr., age 75, passed away peacefully at home, October 1, 2014. He was born February 27, 1939, at home in Alger to Stancil and Helen (Borger) Brown. 
Robert is survived by his daughter, Edie Hayes; son, Robert J. Brown, Jr.; granddaughter, Stephanie Rose Barnum; sister, Joan Pleas; sister-in-law, Barbara Gillmer.
A graveside service of cremated remains will be held at 11:00, Friday, October 24, 2014, at Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, Washington, followed by an open house at the homestead. Donations may be made to a heart or lung association in his memory.
I am a classmate of Roberts and I’ve tried to keep all of our classmates together through the years. Robert would never respond to letters that were sent to him nor would he join us when we had parties and such. We however would always included him. Val and Laura Matthews who are also classmates would check on Robert periodically and tell us how Robert was doing. Their last visit report wasn’t a good one. They thought he really looked quite ill. Our Heavenly Father was obviously preparing Robert then for his journey home. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. For I know what the loss of a loved one is. My husband died in July. Spent a weekend at Bob’s home in 1951. We chased fish in a creek and drove his model T in the pasture. He did well in life. Will pray for family.
