Robert “Pat” Mayfield

Thursday, November 4th, 2021

Robert Patrick Mayfield, 62, lost his battle with cancer on  November 4, 2021 and is with the Lord whom he loved so much.  He was born in Murray Hill, New Jersey on the first day of October, 1959.  Pat attended school in St Charles, Missouri and then Concrete, Washington and he never missed a day of school.  Pat was extremely mild mannered and liked by all.

All Pat’s life he was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.  One of his most treasured possessions was a ball cap that Stan Musial autographed and gave to Pat during a flight from Minneapolis to St Louis.  Pat considered that one of the luckiest days of his life, somehow getting upgraded to first class and then getting a seat next to Musial.

His affection for the Cardinals was only exceeded by his love for fishing in which he was very accomplished.  Pat caught many trophy size bass and has had two mounted.  Pat was also an excellent drummer and won a national contest before he was a teenager and played in several bands when he was young.  Recently he only played for himself with the drums set up in his bedroom.

Pat worked for many years with his uncle, Dan Mayfield, at Mayfield Roofing in Naples Florida.  Pat was electrocuted while roofing which essentially ended his working ability several years ago.

Pat is survived by his father, William Mayfield, Jr.; stepmother, Janet Mayfield; sister, Terri Mayfield;  stepsister, Renee Anderson; stepbrother Greg Stauffeneker; six nieces; and four nephews.

He was preceded by his mother, Barbara Ann (Hildebrand) Mayfield; four of his siblings, Deborah Vorhees (9/14/2005), Kathryn Mayfield (4/27/2004), William Mayfield III (8/8/2009), Shari Hodge (12/9/2018).

A Funeral service will be held at 1:00, Friday, November 12, 2021 at the Concrete Assembly of God with Pastor Bruce Martin officiating, followed by a Graveside service at Forest Park Cemetery in Concrete, WA.  Share your memories of Pat and sign the online guest register.

I will miss my “facebook” friend. I also knew Pat through Bill & Jan. I’m so sorry for the family as another loss has to be devastating. Pat fought so hard but now he’s no longer suffering.
