Roy Dwane Holman, age 40, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at Fort Lewis, Washington.
He was born November 16, 1967 in Oak Harbor, Washington the son of Robert ‘Tex’ and Penney Carlisle Holman.
Roy grew up in Sedro-Woolley and later resided in Spokane for many years until making his home in Tacoma for the past 8 years. He worked as a mechanic for the Fort Lewis Golf Course.
Roy was united in marriage to Nanci West on June 4, 1994 in Issaquah, Washington and they made their home in Spokane and Tacoma.
He was an active member of the Masonic Order. Roy was also a member and Past Master of the Orchard Lodge #200 F&AM of Spokane; a member of El Katif, Shrine Temple and Scottish Rite in Spokane.
He also enjoyed fishing, trap shooting, building and operating remote controlled tug boats and rebuilding and restoring cars.
Roy is survived by his wife, Nanci Holman of Tacoma. His mother, Penney Holman of Sedro-Woolley. 2 sisters, Carol Osterman and her husband, Kevin of La Conner and Nancy Holman of Moab, UT. A sister-in-law, Susan Jumelet and her husband, A.J. of Bonney Lake, WA and their children, Kylie and Isobelle Davidson and Josh, Brad, and Austin Jumelet, and his father and mother-in-law, Orville and Ada West of Maple Valley. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert ‘Tex’ Holman in 2001.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at 3:00PM at Lemley Chapel with members of Burlington United Lodge #93 F&AM officiating. Memorials are suggested to Shriner’s Hospital in Spokane.
