Ruth G. Wake, age 72, a resident of Sedro-Woolley passed away Sunday, March 1, 2009 at the Life Care Center of Skagit Valley in Sedro-Woolley. She was born October 16, 1936 in Ferndale, Washington to Howard and Alda Patch Moore.
Ruth attended school in Monroe, WA and graduated from Monroe High School in 1955. She then moved to Burlington and worked at Northern State Hospital in Sedro-Woolley for 2 ½ years.
Ruth was united in marriage to Marvin Wake on March 7, 1959 in Sedro-Woolley and shortly thereafter, they moved to Seattle. She worked in Central Supply at Northwest Hospital for several years. In 1992, Ruth and Marvin retired and moved to Concrete where they lived for 13 years until Marvin’s passing in 2005. Ruth then lived with her sister Betty Knake in Anacortes until July of 2007 when she moved to Country Meadows Village in Sedro-Woolley. She made a lot of friends there; she became a best friend with Claretta Buchanan as they helped each other when needed as well as her friend Wendy for the fun times together.
Ruth is survived by two sisters, Betty Knake of Anacortes and Dorothy Craig of Hood River, OR and two brothers, Raymond Moore and his wife Sally of Hood River, OR and Vernon Moore and his wife Elena of Lakeview, OR. A sister-in-law, Loretta Wake of Marysville, WA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be Friday, March 6, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery with Pastor Billy Farrar of Sedro-Woolley officiating. Arrangements and Services under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
