Sandra Ann Denenzio, 61, a resident of the Upper Skagit Tribal community, passed away on August 12, 2017 at Skagit Valley Hospital.

Sandra was born on August 4, 1956 in Tacoma, the daughter of Lucille & Nicholas Denunzio, Sr.  The family later moved to the Skagit Valley and Sandra was raised and attended school in Concrete & Sedro-Woolley.

Sandra worked in the deli department at K-Mart for several years and was the cook for many tribal social activities; she was a commercial fisherman and a primary care giver to her family.

She enjoyed playing baseball in her younger years, going fishing and playing bingo.

Sandra is survived by her children, Nolan Denunzio and Desiree Casimir; 4 brothers, Nick Denunzio and Ron, Rod & Sam Bright; 4 sisters, Vicki Denunzio, Suzanne Chambers, Deborah Charles and Tammy Bright and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter; a brother, Mike Denunzio; companion, Ron Williams and several aunts and uncles.

A prayer service will be held on Wednesday, August 16th at 7:00 pm followed by a funeral service on Thursday, August 17th at 10:00 am at the Upper Skagit Indian Tribal Gymnasium.  Services are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.

    Sandy was a good friend and a real trooper. When family needed her, she stepped up without hesitation. I miss her, her mom Lucille and aunt Lucella, Jerry and Joe, and so many more…but they are together now and i can hear the laughter…REST in peace my friend..you will be missed…xoxox
