Shawn Wittrock, 47, a resident of Sedro-Woolley, Washington passed away at his home on Friday, August 28, 2009. He was born in Mount Vernon, Washington on December 9, 1961 the son of Johnny and Peggy Washington Unive.
Shawn grew up in Chiloquin, Oregon and for many years resided in Oregon before residing in Sedro-Woolley for the past 9 months. Shawn was a retired chef and cooking was his passion.
Shawn’s survivors include his partner and long time companion, Steve Hughes of Sedro-Woolley. His father, Johnny Unive of Klamath Falls, OR. 7 brothers, Raymond Bowen, Jack Bowen and John Bowen all of Sedro-Woolley, Jay Bowen and Joe Bowen of Mount Vernon, Rick Stevenette of Airway Heights, WA and Michael Griffin of Sedro-Woolley. 9 sisters, Diana Copeland of Montana, Marlilee Teton of Reno, NV, Mary Washington and Margene Washington of Sedro-Woolley, Dixie Hess of Bremerton, WA, Tina Talley and Kelly Gomez of Sedro-Woolley, Kay Knott of Mount Vernon and Gina Fredberg of Sedro-Woolley and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
A pre service dinner will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at 5:00 PM followed by a Prayer Services at 7:00PM at the Upper Skagit Tribe Cultural Building. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at 10:00AM at the Upper Skagit Tribe Cultural Building with cremation to follow the services. A luncheon will follow the services. Inurnment will be at the Washington Family Cemetery in Rockport on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 11:00AM. Memorials are suggested to the Sedro-Woolley Food Bank. Arrangements and Services are under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
