Shelly Hamilton

Monday, October 19th, 2009

Shelly Hamilton, age 52, passed away from Lung Cancer on Monday, October 19, 2009 at her home in Sedro-Woolley, Washington.
Shelly Suzanne Ludwig was born on September 16, 1957, the daughter of Walter and Betty Jean Johnson Ludwig.
While growing up in the Lynnwood area she attended the local schools. In her early twenties Shelly had gone to cosmetology school and had worked as a hairdresser, and then on the advice of a friend, the young and adventuresome Shelly moved to Hawaii working in Honolulu. Shortly having returning from Hawaii, Shelly met her future husband, Richard Hamilton and they were married on February 28, 1988.
Being a mom was Shelly’s life long calling. On August 3, 1988 her prayer of a daughter with blonde hair and blue eyes came true; Christie Michelle Hamilton was born. While being a stay at home mom Shelly volunteered at her daughter’s school. After ten years, Shelly went to work full time as a Teacher’s Assistant at Good Beginnings Pre-School for the Sedro-Woolley School District. At this time in her life, she discovered her love for Christ and began her journey in furthering her relationship with the Lord. Her yearly indulgence became a four-day excursion over the mountains to Creation Fest, a musical celebration of our Creator. Here, she discovered her love for music and worshiping God. This lead to her volunteering at a local venue called Common Ground in Burlington, which aimed at providing an uplifting environment for youth.
A family member dubbed Shelly as a ‘Black Belt Shopper,’ as she was always the best at finding a bargain. Shelly was a very loving and devoted wife and mother always putting the needs of her family first.
Shelly is survived by her husband, Richard Hamilton of Sedro-Woolley. Their children, Richard Amber Hamilton of Italy, Kerri Vince Wallis of Montana, and Christie Hamilton of Seattle. Five grandchildren, Zachary and Austin Wallis and Kyler, Mason and Rafe Hamilton. Her father, Walter Ludwig. Two brothers, Tim Beth Ludwig and Mike Nancy Ludwig. Nieces, Danielle and Andrea Peckham and many other beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty and a brother, Greg Ludwig.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley with Mr. Wayne Bacus of Sedro-Woolley officiating.
