Spencer Duane “Butch” Jacobsen, age 75, of Birdsview, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017.  He was born in Stanwood to Walter and Idabelle (Sanden) Jacobsen.

Spencer grew up in Stanwood and worked as a long haul trucker, milk truck driver for Carnation, and worked for many years at Stanwood Redi-Mix, retiring and then worked as a self-employed concrete finisher.  He loved fishing and was quite sociable, playing his guitar and singing, or building something in his shop.  He was a licensed Ham Radio Operator who enjoyed talking to people around the world.  He was a member of the Lions club and the Sons of Norway.

Spencer is survived by his wife, Patricia; children, Connie A. (Blake) Smith, of  Clyde, Alberta, Canada and Rod Jacobsen, of Stanwood; grandchildren, Shelby, of Camano Island, and Ryan and Kathrine, of Alberta; siblings, Janice Keiling, of Seattle, Virginia Butler, of Mount Vernon, Wayne (Bea) Jacobsen, of Gig Harbor and Keith (Wanda) Jacobsen, of Sedro-Woolley; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents also his siblings, Raymond Jacobsen and Mavis Crawford.

A Luncheon Gathering will be held at Noon, Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Burlington Senior Center, 1011 Greenleaf Ave., Burlington, WA  98233.

    Lost regular contact with Spencer when he moved from Stanwood.. We had many evening chats on ham radio for years and numerous lunch and dinner gatherings in the 1980’s.
    His passing came as a surprise and he will be missed by all.
