Spergeon “Denny” Queen

Tuesday, February 21st, 2017

Spergeon “Denny” Queen, 70 of Lyman, Washington died February 19, 2017 at his family home in Lyman after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

Denny was born in Sylva, North Carolina to Spergeon Queen and Edna Phillips on July 1, 1946.  He spent his childhood roaming the hills hunting squirrels in the mountain in North Carolina, before moving to Washington and finally settling in Lyman.

Lyman is where he met the love of his life Donna Mae Cabe, and they were married on October 7, 1967 and were together until her passing on October 29, 2002.  They now are together again.

Denny worked as a mechanic for most of his life, owning his own transmission shop for many years, and was widely known as the best “Tranny Man” in town.  After he was injured and retired, his passion turned to hunting and fishing.  He was happiest when he was at Rufus Woods, Snake River or Bonaparte catching the blue gill he loved so much.

He was preceded in death by his parents Spergeon and Edna Queen and his loving wife Donna Queen, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.

Surviving are his sons, Steven Queen of Lyman, Ronnie Queen (Dani) of Concrete and his two precious grandchildren that were his pride and joy Michelle Yarber and Royce Queen of Concrete.

Anyone who knew our dad knows that he had no problem telling what was on his mind or how he felt about something, and it was his wishes not to have any services.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
