Steven Geiger

Wednesday, August 25th, 2021

Steven Raymond Geiger, age 72, passed away August 25, 2021, at his home in Anacortes, WA with his loving family by his side.

Steven was born to Warren and Imogene Geiger in Burlington, Washington November 30, 1948. He grew up and graduated in Sedro-Woolley, WA.  Steven joined the Navy and served in Vietnam.  At a young age, the owner of the Sedro-Woolley bakery let Steven bake with him and from then he was hooked.  He went on to cooking and baking school at the Seattle Art Institute to follow his passion.  He worked at numerous restaurants including the Space Needle, Teddy’s on Roosevelt, World Trade Center Seattle and the Vance Hotel, just to name a few.

Steven was fortunate to meet the love of his life, Cyndi F Walley, at a very young age.  She was his girl from then on.  They were married September 5, 1969, at Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Sedro-Woolley.  They spent the next 42 years loving each other with everything they had and welcomed their son, Anthony in 1971.  Steven and Cyndi lived in Seattle, Lynnwood and Mountlake Terrace for 30 years before moving to their custom-built home in Anacortes in 2004.

Steven loved his career as a chef along with enjoying traveling, camping and time with his wife and family.  Steven and Cyndi went everywhere together.  Their favorite place was at the JW Marriott in Honolulu, Hawaii enjoying pu pu platters on the beach.  Steven loved his grandchildren and always loved joking around and cooking for them.  As he used to say, never trust a skinny cook.

Steven is survived by his son, Anthony Geiger (Jamie Bruce) of Anacortes; grandchildren, Alexis, Isabella and Kamryn; loving sister, Lamarr Coler of Mill Creek; and multiple longtime dear friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Imogene Geiger; in-laws, Donald “Spud” and Betty Walley; brother-in-law, Bruce Coler; and his wife, Cyndi.  They have been separated for 10 long years, but now are reunited to spend an eternity loving each other and watching over their family in the arms of the Lord.

There will be a Celebration of Life Graveside Inurnment Service at 3:00, Friday, September 3, 2021, at Union Cemetery, Sedro-Woolley.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Steven’s name to the Hospice of the Northwest or to the Alzheimer’s Association.  Share your memories of Steven and sign the online guest register.

  • Sandy Stewart Rodriguez

I went to school with both Steve and Cindi. So sorry for your loss.

  • John Lynn

Steve was always my friend and I was always his! Cyndi would call early on a weekend morning to say “Steve’s making egg benedicts” and I would answer, Linda and I would be there in 10minutes. They were both great cooks and loved to play cards.
We would hear a horn beeping in our driveway and the phone ringing. We’re going for a ride, let’s all go!
It’s hard to believe a lost memory can destroy the mind, body and damage a
family. I will always miss Steve’s personality and presence.
    Miss you buddy!

So sorry you are leaving this earth but Cindi will be so happy to see you. Loved the time we spent in your beautiful home and the scrumptious meal you made for us. I have great memories of our years at Sedro Woolley High.

I’m so sorry to hear of Steven’s passing, and my heart goes out to all of his family and friends that knew and loved him, and especially his sister and my good friend, Lamarr.
