TOM H. ‘BUD’ HENDERSON, 74, a Mount Vernon, WA,Big Lake area resident passed away at Home Place Special Care in Burlington, WA on Thursday March 28, 2002.

He was born on June 24, 1927 in Cullowhee, NC, the son of Paul & Florence Shelton Henderson. Tom was raised and attained his education in North Carolina. In 1945 Tom enlisted in the U.S. Army and served with the 548th Military Police Co. in the Panama Canal. In 1948 Tom came to Skagit County. He was united in marriage to Elzada Brigham in Mount Vernon, WA in 1950 and they made their home in Aberdeen, WA where Tom worked in the logging industry. He also worked as a carpenter in construction for several years. In the 1980’s Tom & Elzada moved to Craig, Alaska where they operated an oyster farm with their sons for many years. He enjoyed going on camping and fishing trips with his family.

Tom is survived by his wife Elzada at the family home. 4 sons, James, Don and Dale Henderson all of Thorn Bay, AK and Dan Henderson of Woodinville, WA. 1 daughter, Judy Germeaux, of Juneau, AK. 1 sister, Rebecca Stamey of Canton, NC and 1 brother, Charles Henderson of Morganton, NC. 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Carl.

At his request there will be no funeral services. Cremation and arrangements are under direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
